FSG’s and Jurgen Klopp’s good work at Liverpool is underlined by landmark valuation of the club in new study
Liverpool have been valued at more than one BILLION pounds in a study into football’s richest football brands.
Liverpool have retained the position despite having increased their value by 20% thanks to another run to the Champions League final as well as a strong challenge for the Premier League title.
Real Madrid have usurped Manchester United at the top of the standings as the most valuable club, with an increase of 26.9% seeing them valued at £1.42bn, ahead of the Old Trafford club’s value of £1.27bn.
Liverpool are also behind Barcelona (£1.2bn), Bayern Munich (£1.13bn) and main domestic rivals Manchester City (£1.08bn).
However, the Reds’ total puts them above Premier League rivals Chelsea, Arsenal and Champions League final opponents Tottenham Hotspur, with French side Paris Saint-Germain completing the top 10.
The top-six clubs account for over 40% of the overall brand value in the Brand Finance Football 50 ranking, underlining the concentration of wealth and the creation of a set of “super clubs”.
In terms of brand strength, Liverpool are regard the fifth-strongest, ahead of Manchester City and just a place behind Manchester United.
Real Madrid are top, and are also said to have the most valuable stadium while Borussia Dortmund are claimed to provide the best matchday experience.
The Premier League dominates the overall ranking with 17 entrants and 43% of total brand value, with Everton the most valuable side outside England’s top six, ahead of Newcastle United and West Ham United./liverpoolecho/
