Leicester City are set to find out which of their festive fixtures have been selected for broadcast and it is rumours their clash with Liverpool is due to be picked
Premier League fans will finally find out what time their club’s Boxing Day fixtures will take place this morning.
League executives are set to release the broadcast schedule for the festive programme at 10am on Thursday morning after a six-day delay with fans’ groups furious.
Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester City are due to host Liverpool and that game is set to kick-off at 8pm, a nightmare for away fans travelling back to the north-west with public transport limited.
For the first time, Amazon hold the rights to the full Boxing Day programme and intend to show every game.
However, there will be four different kick-off times, 12.30pm, 3pm, 5.30pm and that 8pm slot, with the Mirror reporting that it had been claimed another kick-off time was on the cards until Premier League chiefs balked at the idea.
Nine fixtures will take place on Boxing Day, with Manchester City’s trip to Wolves moved to December 27th.
The lateness of City’s clash with table-toppers Liverpool – who beat them 2-1 last time out , will impact on their following game.
They travel to West Ham United on December 28 (3pm) before making the New Year’s Day trip to West Ham United.
